Abbotsford Skate Contest 2016

Replay Board shop held a contest in the new Abbotsford Bowl. This bowl is super fast and the vert pocket is going to breed a new bunch of vert skaters out of the lower mainland.

The contest started around noon and lasted 3 hours. With the beginners going first and the Bowl Crushers going last.

Andy Anderson and Matt Foster competed with Kyler Hale for the top spots.

BLVD Skateshop Kensington Skatepark Contest 2015

BLVD Skateshop put on its annual Kensington Skatepark contest in the late summer of 2015.

The weather held out through the Beginners, Ladies, Intermediates, and then poured down after the first run of the Advanced.

Langford Slamma 2

Heritage Boardshop in Langford, BC held their second SLAMMA contest. Minis, Beginners, Intermediates, and Advanced divisions competed for prizes and cash.

Jamie Kehoe Memorial Skate Jam 2014

North Delta Skatepark was taken over for a skateboarding memorial for Jamie Kehoe. This young man was taken from us too soon.

His father, Jay Kehoe, with help from Authentic Board Supply and Street Dreamz Skateshop came together to remember, skate, and share with the community.

Free BBQ for everyone and prizes donated by the two local shops had people skating all day.

Langford Slamma

On March 23rd, Hippie Mike held the Langford Slamma skateboard contest inside Heritage Boardshop.

This contest was inspired by The Savannah Slamma contest of the 80s. Small movable objects that the skaters can use anyway they like.

Vans Roadblock 2013

This was the 4th year of the Vans Roadblock. Granville street in Vancouver, is shut down to traffic and the skaters take over.

Four shops bring obstacles to skate. This year it was Coastal Riders, Underworld, BLVD skateshop, and Antisocial. Then each shop’s team of skaters get to skate the obstacle for 10 minutes. The winning team is awarded $1000.00 per obstacle.

It was an intense day in the sun. Thanks to Vans for putting up the money for each obstacle.

Flat Spot Longboard Skateshop Contest 2013

The Flat Spot Skateshop held a contest on their mini bowl. The bowl was tiny to say the least. But it is inside and dry in the Vancouver rain.

This was a very loose contest. Everyone jammed for a few minutes and then there was a final. The best came out and put down what they could on the mini bowl.

BLVD Kensington Skatepark Contest 2011

BLVD Skateshop put on a contest during the summer of 2011. It happened at the Kensington Skatepark in Vancouver, BC. Vans shoes also threw in some money and shoes as additional prizes.

The local heavy hitters came out to compete for cash and prizes. Adam Hopkins, Colin Nogue, Rob Boyce and Steve Denham were just a few of the skaters that put their ass on line line in the backyard pool style bowl.

Antisocial skateshop put a ramp on Main Street Vancouver, AGAIN! Some extra fun was had by the local Skate Hockey enthusiasts.

RDS Block Party

RDS Skate Supply held a Block Party/Contest out in front of the skateshop.

This was a low key contest that only had 3 obstacles. Some great skating went down on a ledge, flat bar and a wedge ramp.
